Like the Spice, a gallery specializing in up-and-coming and contemporary art, seeks 1-2 dedicated interns who are specifically interested in the sales and marketing side of running a gallery. Interns will learn the ins and outs of dealing with art collectors, advisors, and consultants in a professional manner to help generate sales of artwork and create new relationships in the professional art world.
Interns must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and be organized, responsible and professional. This is an incredible opportunity for the right person to take part in art fairs, openings, special events, and outside projects. You will maintain client databases, approach collectors to introduce them to the gallery and our artists, and use knowledge of both contemporary trends and art history to discuss the artists we represent with gallery-goers in an intelligent manner.
Installation experience is a must, but it should be noted that this position is more on the Business side of Art Business. Please be available to start asap.
Location: Williamsburg
Compensation: Potential for sales commission
